The second chair I’ve ever design and built was during my graduating year studying at Sheridan College. My starting point for inspiration came from Gio Ponti’s 669 superleggera chair; particularly the kicked out back legs. The legs sweep up above the chair seat to gently support the upper lumbar with the clearance that allows your bottom to slide behind the back rest to allow for natural and proper posture.
The chairs frame is constructed with Canadian Black Cherry and the seat and back is laminated Balsa with Makore Veneer. Designed for dinning, it is light enough and balanced to be slid with one hand; when the meals over it tucks away easily and does it with style.
